Discover the

Golden Eagle Festival

Join us for an unforgettable journey to Mongolia’s Bayan-Ulgii Province to experience the Annual Golden Eagle Festival, where Kazakh hunters gather to celebrate and compete in the ancient art of eagle falconry. This spectacular event showcases the speed, agility, and precision of golden eagles as they demonstrate their hunting skills. For centuries, Kazakh nomads have relied on these magnificent birds for hunting in the harsh landscapes of the Altai Mountains.

At Teneger Gateway, we are proud to support this remarkable cultural tradition, which has seen a significant revival in recent years. With over 300 active eagle hunters, the practice of golden eagle falconry is now thriving. Recognized by UNESCO in 2010 as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, this tradition stands as a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of Kazakh nomads.

Our exclusive tour immerses you in the heart of the festival, allowing you to witness competitions where eagle hunters demonstrate their mastery in speed, accuracy, and teamwork with their eagles. Beyond the festival, we take you on a journey through the stunning landscapes of Bayan-Ulgii, visiting local Kazakh families to learn about their unique customs and traditions.
