Nestled in the heart of the Hulunbuir Grasslands, the Morigele River is celebrated as the “First Meandering River Under Heaven.” Its winding waters flow gracefully across the vast expanse of the grasslands, resembling a jade ribbon that adds to the pristine beauty of this untouched landscape.
We offer an exceptional horseback riding experience within the Morigele River Scenic Area. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, our professional instructors will guide you in learning essential riding skills and techniques. Once prepared, you’ll saddle up on a Mongolian horse and embark on a journey across the open steppe, riding alongside the meandering Morigele River and immersing yourself in the purity and majesty of nature.
Our riding routes are carefully planned to ensure safety while allowing you to fully explore the allure of the grasslands. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to engage with local herders, gaining insights into traditional Mongolian culture and the nomadic lifestyle. We also provide full logistical support, including meals, accommodation, and vehicle assistance, to ensure a seamless and comfortable experience.

Itinerary
Days 1-2
Ancient and Modern Hulunbuir
Upon arriving in Hulunbuir, you will need to arrange your own stay at an indoor hotel. The next day, we will depart at 10:00 AM and drive to the campsite.
Here, you will be introduced to Mongolian horses. Based on your height, weight, age, and riding experience, we will assign you a suitable horse. We will also provide an overview of the key safety guidelines for horseback travel and conduct a basic riding lesson.
(Note: Outdoor riding on this day will last approximately 2 hours.)
Days 3-4
Journey to Morgol Riverside
Today’s horseback journey begins with a comforting bowl of warm milk tea.
After breakfast, we will ride along the banks of the Morigele River, venturing deep into the Hulunbuir Grasslands. You will traverse the summer pastures of local herders, riding beside the “First Meandering River Under Heaven”—the Morigele River.
Surrounded by yurts, flocks of sheep, herds of cattle, and galloping horses, you’ll relish the serene and exclusive experience of horseback riding in the heart of the grasslands.
Days 5-6
Malgai Mountain and Aarxan Zuslan
Enjoy a cup of nomadic coffee alongside a hearty campsite breakfast. After stretching and warming up, embark on your horseback journey along the nomadic path of the grasslands.
As you ride deeper into the vast steppe, the scenery transforms. In spring and summer, the grasslands bloom with a vibrant array of wildflowers, creating a breathtaking tapestry. Riding through flower-filled valleys, the rustle of your horse’s legs brushing against the grass adds a rhythmic melody to the serene surroundings.
Days 7
Hailar & Departure
After breakfast, we begin the final morning of horseback riding. By today, even first-time riders will feel confident and ride smoothly, fully experiencing the vastness of the grasslands.
By noon, we arrive at our destination and enjoy a traditional lunch of hand-pulled lamb and lamb soup. During the meal, we’ll share memorable stories of our horseback journey across the steppe.
After lunch, we pack our belongings and bid farewell to the Barhu Grasslands. We then drive back to Hailar city or head to the airport for departure. This marks the perfect conclusion to the Morigele River horseback adventure.
